Second, this is the Easy Cable Hat I made this weekend.

I really didn't have a pattern. I just made it up as I went along. I used JoAnn Sensations on size 11 needles.
Cast on 72 stitches.
K2P2 for 10 rows
K8P6 for 6 rows
Put 4 stitches onto a cable needle and hold in front, K4, then K off of cable needle 4 stitches. Repeat until you have 4 cable overs
K 5 rows
K2tog until you have about 5 stitches left, then with a tapestry needle or crochet hook weave together the remaining stitches
It fits me nicely and I have a 21 1/2 inch head. If you notice it has a purple dot at the top of the hat. Q requested I do that. She asked that I knit this hat for one of her teachers (I needed to do it in one weekend, no pressure or anything.)And her favorite colors are pink and purple, like Q, so she wanted the little touch of purple. I'm getting good at making hats, I've been getting lots of requests for them lately. I'll take that as a compliment.

I love the cables in that hat! I have only done cables once, and that was some socks, but I always shy away from doing more projects with them because I think they are slow going. Then again, they really make a project don't they?
