This past week in a nut shell... I've often said that solving one problem just opens the door for another. I don't like to be pessimistic, but it really seems that way. I installed a fence in my yard so my dogs can have freedom to run around. And I don't have to put up with the hassles of those damn dog cables getting tangled up or broken. So what has happened? The dogs have been digging holes under the fence and escaping. It figures.
So lets back up a bit. Wednesday I realized it was cold in the house, so I turned up the heat a bit. By Thursday about 2-3 am it was pretty apparent by the way my temperature in the house kept falling that my furnace ( or rather a boiler of some sort since I have radiator heat) was not working. Enter throbbing headache. As I was getting Q and myself out of the door that same Thursday morning I discovered the hole under the fence. Now enter a pounding headache. The furnace guy said he could come out to fix it Friday, which was fine since I was going to be home with a friend of mine who was helping me re organize Q's room. Get rid of all that baby stuff and a whole shit load of other stuff in her room. I have helped her clean and organize her home, so she was happy to help me. When he came over I reminded him the last time he was over it was a few days before I left to adopt my child, now almost 7. And today my girlfriend and I were getting the room reorganized and a lot of crap out that is too young for her. My friend told me that as soon as I said that and turned my back to show him downstairs that he looked at her funny, then looked at me funny and then did the cycle again. She thinks he interpreted girlfriend as "girlfriend". We got a good laugh at that. I have no problem of people of that lifestyle, but trust me when I say that I have no interest in my same gender. I like the boys.
Again I've channeled my inner kitchen witch. This weekend I've made another bath tub sized container of granola, made beef jerky out of 3 pounds of eye of round roast (I've never made it before it turned out a bit salty so I'm going to try to soak a little salt out if it and see what happens) and a bunch of little things I won't bore you with. And I'm almost done with the B5 (Based on the Big Bad Baby Blankie) I should have been done with that and the other blankie about a month ago, but hey, I've been distracted. And made another baby hat. Yep, busy Queen.
